Acknowledgments
I particularly want to thank Herschel (deceased) and Wilna Smith for their
countless hours of research in Ellen White’s writings before the CD ROM became
available. They provided me with hundreds and hundreds of pages of typed
research materials at no cost. Their research provided the backbone of this
book and pointed me in the right direction.
I gratefully acknowledge Richard and Melody Drake for the many hours of
editing. They not only checked each quote for content, but read the paragraphs
before and after checking context. Many thanks also to Barbara Pierce, Alan
Bishop, and Lorrie Shepard for proofreading the materials and giving suggestions
for improvements.
Appreciation is also extended to those who have enjoyed public seminars on
this subject and have patiently waited for me to look up and answer their
questions.
I am deeply indebted to computer program specialists David and Susan Thompson
for their expertise in designing the book’s cover.
But most of all I appreciate and thank my dear wife Clara who at times felt
lonely because of the many hours spent in my research and typing. Her loving
support has been a constant encouragement.
